Howe Gelb米国アリゾナ州ツーソンが生んだデザート・ロッカー．Giant Sandを20年以上に渡って率いている創立メンバー．当時から多数あるアルタナティブ音楽のプロジェクトにも参加(Ow Om レーベルで参照できる）．ハウ・ゲルブ、彼は砂漠のルー・リードとも言われている．初めて彼の音楽を聴いた時に、人と同じように音も塵と土から生まれて、土へと帰ると感じた．この音楽を彼はエロージョン・ロックと呼ぶ．つまり浸食されたロックである．
